Getting Started
How do I create an account?
Download the app from the App Store or Google Play Store, open it, and tap Get Started. You can sign up using your email address or through social login (Google / Apple). After signing up, select your target exam to personalise your experience.
How do I change my target exam?
Go to Profile → Edit Profile and select your new target exam. Your home screen recommendations, store suggestions, and analytics will update accordingly.
Is the app free to use?
Yes! You get 3 free daily quizzes and 3 free practice questions every day at no cost. Additional question papers and packs are available for purchase from the Store.
Daily Quiz & Streaks
How do daily quizzes work?
Every day you get 3 free quizzes and 3 free practice questions. They refresh at midnight IST. Daily questions auto-submit when you select an answer — there's no going back. Each can only be attempted once per day.
What are streaks?
Your streak counts the number of consecutive days you've practiced. Complete at least one activity each day to keep your streak alive. You'll earn milestone badges at 7, 14, 30, and 100 days. Miss a day and the streak resets to zero.
When do daily quizzes refresh?
Daily quizzes and questions refresh at 12:00 AM IST (midnight). A countdown timer on the daily quiz screen shows exactly when new questions will be available.
Check the activity calendar on the Streak screen to see your 30-day practice history at a glance.
Store & Purchases
What are papers and packs?
Papers are individual question sets for specific exams or topics. Packs are curated bundles of papers offered at a discount (up to 30% off compared to buying individually). You can see the savings on each pack's detail page.
How do I buy a paper or pack?
Browse the Store tab, tap on any paper or pack to view details, then tap Add to Cart. When you're ready, go to your cart, apply a coupon code if you have one, and proceed to checkout.
How do I use a coupon code?
On the checkout screen, enter your coupon code in the promo field and tap Apply. The discount (flat amount or percentage) will be reflected in the price breakdown before you pay.
Can I save papers for later?
Yes! Tap the heart icon on any paper or pack to add it to your Wishlist. Access your wishlist anytime from the Store screen.
Where can I see my past purchases?
Go to Profile → Purchase History to view all your past orders with details and receipts.
Quiz Taking & Mock Exams
How do quizzes work?
Select a paper from your Library and tap Start Quiz. Each question has multiple options — select your answer and tap Next. You can mark questions for review and navigate using the question palette. After submission, you'll see detailed results with explanations.
What is Mock Exam mode?
Mock Exam simulates real exam conditions: strict time limits, no pausing, no explanations during the exam, and optional negative marking. The app enters full-screen mode for an immersive experience. The timer auto-submits your answers when time runs out. You'll get a detailed performance analysis after the exam.
What is negative marking?
Some mock exams have negative marking enabled, just like real competitive exams. Wrong answers incur a penalty (typically 1/3 of the marks), so skipping uncertain questions may be a better strategy. The marking scheme is shown before you start.
Can I review my answers after a quiz?
Yes. After completing a quiz, the results screen shows your score and performance breakdown. Tap Review Answers to see each question with the correct answer and a detailed explanation.
How do I bookmark a question?
While reviewing a question, tap the bookmark icon to save it. Access all your bookmarks from Library → Bookmarks. You can even create a practice quiz from your bookmarked questions.
How do I report a wrong answer?
While reviewing a question, tap the flag icon to report an error. Our content team reviews all reports and corrects errors promptly.
Library & Downloads
What's in my Library?
The Library tab shows all papers you've purchased or have access to. You can filter by exam type, search by name, and see your progress on each paper.
Can I use the app offline?
Yes! Tap the download icon on any paper to save it for offline practice. Downloaded papers are available without an internet connection. Your results will automatically sync when you're back online.
How do I manage my downloads?
Go to Library → Downloads to see all your offline papers. You can delete downloads to free up storage space.
PYQ Browser
What is the PYQ Browser?
The Previous Year Questions (PYQ) browser lets you explore actual questions from past competitive exams. Browse by year, subject, or topic to understand exam patterns and focus your preparation.
How do I use PYQ trends?
The PYQ browser includes a topic heatmap that shows how often each topic appeared across years. Use this to identify high-frequency topics and prioritise your study time accordingly.
Can I practice PYQs as a quiz?
Yes! You can take a Random PYQ Mix quiz that generates a mixed practice set from previous year questions, or drill down into a specific year or subject.
Custom Quiz Builder
How do I build a custom quiz?
The Custom Quiz Builder lets you create a personalised quiz in 5 steps:
- Select your exam type
- Choose subjects (or leave blank for all)
- Choose specific topics (optional)
- Pick difficulty level — Easy, Medium, Hard, or Mixed
- Set the number of questions and any additional filters
You'll see a preview of the generated quiz before you start.
Challenges
How do I challenge a friend?
Go to the Challenges screen and tap Create Challenge. Pick a quiz paper, select a friend, and send the challenge. Your friend will get a notification to accept.
How do I join a challenge?
You can join a challenge from a notification, or manually enter a challenge code on the Challenges screen. Once both players are ready, the quiz begins.
How are challenge results determined?
After both players complete the quiz, you'll see a head-to-head comparison with scores, accuracy, and time taken. The higher score wins!
Analytics & Goals
What are Weak Areas?
The Weak Areas screen analyses your quiz history and identifies topics where your accuracy is low. It gives you actionable study recommendations so you can focus on what needs the most improvement.
How do learning goals work?
Set daily, weekly, or monthly quiz targets from the Goals screen. Track your progress with visual indicators and a heatmap of your activity. When you hit your goal, you'll see a celebration animation!
What analytics are available?
Your analytics dashboard includes:
- Subject performance: Accuracy breakdown by subject
- Weak areas: Topics that need more practice
- PYQ trends: Year-over-year question distribution
- Study insights: Personalised recommendations
- Time analysis: Average time per question by topic
Achievements & Leaderboard
How do achievements work?
You earn achievement badges by reaching milestones like completing your first quiz, scoring 100%, maintaining a streak, or reaching XP targets. Check the Achievements screen to see earned and upcoming badges with your progress toward each.
What is XP?
Experience Points (XP) are earned by taking quizzes. The amount depends on your performance — higher accuracy earns more XP. XP contributes to your position on the leaderboard.
How does the leaderboard work?
The leaderboard ranks users by XP. You can view both the global leaderboard and a friends-only leaderboard to see how you compare with people you know.
Account & Settings
How do I reset my password?
On the login screen, tap Forgot Password and enter your registered email. You'll receive a password reset link. You can also change your password from Profile → Settings → Change Password.
How do I update my profile?
Go to Profile → Edit Profile to change your display name, profile picture, or target exam. You can take a new photo with your camera or upload one from your gallery.
How do I manage notifications?
Go to Profile → Settings to control push notification preferences. You can toggle reminders for daily quizzes, streaks, and study goals independently.
How do I add friends?
Go to the Friends screen to search for other users and send friend requests. You can also share an invite link for others to connect with you directly.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Profile → Settings → Delete Account. You'll need to type "DELETE" to confirm. All your data will be permanently removed within 30 days. You can also request deletion by emailing hello@geniusquizzes.in. Learn more.
Payments & Refunds
What payment methods are accepted?
On Android, payments are processed through Razorpay — you can use UPI, debit/credit cards, net banking, and wallets. On iOS, payments are handled through Apple In-App Purchase using your Apple ID payment method.
I purchased a pack but can't access it
First, pull down to refresh on the Store or Library screen. If the issue persists, check Profile → Purchase History to verify the purchase status. If payment was deducted but access isn't showing, contact us — we'll resolve it within 24 hours.
What is the refund policy?
Since quiz papers are digital content, purchases are generally non-refundable once content has been accessed. If you experience a technical issue preventing access, contact us and we'll help resolve it or process a refund where applicable.
My payment failed but money was deducted
In rare cases, payment may be deducted during a network interruption. The amount is typically refunded automatically by your bank within 5-7 business days. If it doesn't appear, email us at hello@geniusquizzes.in with your transaction details.
Troubleshooting
The app is slow or not loading
Try these steps:
- Check your internet connection
- Close and reopen the app
- Update to the latest version from the App Store or Play Store
- Clear the app cache from your device settings
If the issue persists, contact us with your device model and OS version.
Push notifications aren't working
Make sure notifications are enabled for Genius Quizzes in your device settings. On Android, check Settings → Apps → Genius Quizzes → Notifications. On iOS, check Settings → Notifications → Genius Quizzes.
My progress or streak was lost
Your data syncs automatically when you're online. If you practiced offline, make sure to open the app with an active internet connection so your progress can sync. If data is still missing, contact us with your account details.
I can't log in to my account
Ensure you're using the correct email address. If you signed up with Google or Apple, use the same method to log in. Try the Forgot Password option if needed. If your account was deleted, you'll need to create a new one.
